Soft Habits I’m Romanticizing This Month ☁️✨

Let’s be real — I’ve tried the “that girl” routines.Woke up at 6 a.m.? Hated it.Drank celery juice for a week? Questionable choices were made.Spent $80 on a silk pillowcase? Okay that one might’ve been worth it.

But here’s the thing: I’m not trying to be perfect. I’m just trying to make my life feel a little softer, a little slower, and a lot more me.

So instead of chasing productivity, this July I’m chasing peace. Pretty peace. Peace that smells like sunscreen and oat milk lattes. Peace that wears a claw clip. Peace that feels like an early 2000s blog with blurry outfit pics and too many hearts in the text.

I call them my soft habits — low-effort, high-vibe rituals that don’t fix my entire life but do make it feel cuter. Here’s what I’m glamorizing this month:

✨ 1. Making My Bed Every Morning

Let’s not act like this is a revolutionary concept — it’s giving Pinterest quote board. But still… there’s something weirdly magical about walking back into your room at 3 p.m. and seeing a crisp, clean bed that looks like it belongs to a functioning human.

Even when my to-do list is unhinged, this tiny win makes me feel like I’m thriving. Or at least cosplaying as someone who is.

💧 2. Drinking 2 Liters of Water a Day

Yes, the Stanley Cup in Rose Quartz. I finally did it.She’s big. She’s beautiful. She’s always within five feet of me.

Hydration is my current love language. And while water on its own tastes like sadness and science class, Blume’s SuperBelly electrolyte packs are changing my life. I love that they’ve got probiotics too — like a treat and a gut-health moment in one.

Again, not sponsored. But would love to be. Call me.

☀️ 3. Getting Out of Bed Before 10 A.M.

This one physically pains me to type, but it’s the truth.I am no longer letting my midnight rat era define me. I am not a vampire. I am not a Tumblr poet in 2014. I am a girl who wants to wake up, see the sun, and do cute little things with her day.

So I’m keeping it simple: wake up by 8 a.m., go to bed by 11 p.m., and stop romanticizing chaos. I can still be mysterious and well-rested. Allegedly.

🚶‍♀️ 4. One-Hour Walks Every Day

I don’t go to therapy right now — but I do walk like I just got dumped by someone who never deserved me anyway.Music in, world out. Hot girl walk mode: activated.

Even if I don’t hit the full hour, I aim to leave the house, get some air, and pretend I’m in the opening credits of an HBO show. Bonus points if I’m wearing sunglasses and lip gloss. Bonus bonus if I pick up a little treat.

🌿 5. Two Hours Outside, Minimum

Nature? I barely know her.But in July? She’s the main character.

Whether I’m lying out on the deck with a lemon-mint water (and maybe a little Aperol if the vibes are right), or walking to get an overpriced smoothie, I want my skin to soak up the sunshine and my brain to breathe.

Plus… self-tanner is work. The sun is free. I’m choosing efficiency, babe.

Final Thoughts:

These habits aren’t groundbreaking. They’re not going to make me a millionaire or solve my existential crises. But they’re soft, they’re sweet, and they remind me that small changes can still feel romantic.

And honestly? That’s the whole point of The Life Edit.

Tiny shifts. Pretty energy. A life lived a little more beautifully — even when nothing’s perfect.

Let me know if you try any of these, or if you’ve got your own soft-girl habits you’re loving lately.

Until next time, keep it light, luxe, and a little unhinged.

Keep them guessing, always.

xoxo, Bella James.
